What steps do you use whereby to prolong the use of your deep frying oil, and how many times do you use it before tossing and starting over with fresh oil?

Strain through cheese cloth each time. The manual has guide for changing oil when you can not see at a certain depth. It is hinted at in the first manual, but the second manual is the specific process. I don't have that one, but in my experience, when the hot oil begins to foam, it is time to take a serious look at it.
