Recently I purchased a 2x - 16x Smartphone Microscope for under €30.00 When coupled with smartphone camera optics and digital zoom, one can get to somewhere between 80x - 100x magnification, apparently. For analysing spices it would be better to put it into stereoscope stage mode, that is set your slide on a white stage and shine the light from the side onto the grains rather than trying to shine the light through the grains.getting uniform light all round the sample would be best for eliminating shadows cast by individual grains. Could be useful. Anyway, here it is.
