I would like to thank Stringbean from the TCK Forum for sending me this interesting link to a news article that talks about Britain's first Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant in Fishergate Preston in Lancashire, which opened its doors in 1965 and now has sadly closed after 49 years of trading. www.lep.co.uk/news/britain-s-first-kentucky-fried-chicken-flies-the-coop-after-49-years-1-6987614The Colonel himself and also his daughter Mildred Ruggles came to the U.K. to help promote this restaurant and stayed with the owners Ray Allan and his family in Lytham. By the mid 1970’s Ray Allen had opened over 250 similar outlets across the UK. Ken
