So, I've begun trialling the newest recipes to arise on this forum, Ken's KG-69, 71, and 71a Ken kindly gave me an additional recipe to try based on a reduced amount of black pepper, KG-70 so I am very interested to see how these recipes vary, in particular if I'm able to pick out the nuanced differences between KG-69, 71, and 71a. Fun, fun, fun. Review soon to come.

TPM,
Thanks for doing this for me. I really appreciate all the time and effort you put into these things and if the recipes (any or all) do not work for you, then let me know your honest feedback here (openly) on the forum, so that I know where to go next with the ever-ongoing research..
That's even if you find things taste 'horrible' or are not the correct smell etc. then I need to know. I prefer to hear any criticisms, rather than the good bits.
One thing though, before your tests and review, can you please state the ingredients being used. I understand you are using the cubeb pepper in place of Tellicherry, but can you clarify (briefly) any other changes or substitutes you use.
I fully appreciate many members and guests are perhaps having to use what ingredients they can get hold of sometimes, and whilst I tend to buy/import Marion Kay or McCormicks products, I appreciate that's not always practical for many others.
The recipes I put out though, should work reasonably well for a majority of store brands (hopefully) as long as they are at least of reasonable quality.
In this latest batch of recipes I do recommend for people to try to get hold of some Jamaican Allspice, if possible, as it's Eugenol/Methyl Eugenol content are higher, but in fairness my local store brand seems to work well too, even though I suspect it's 'a product of more than one country'. So it's possibly worth trying a local brand too.
Anyhow any notes you may have on any ingredient substitutes used in your review, will be much appreciated.
Thanks very much for carrying out these tests for me, regardless of the outcome ... it's extremely kind of you ...and they hopefully will be of benefit to all members and guests here.
It's great to see people trialling the recipes and exploring these new combinations of ingredients. One day we may just 'hit the nail on the head' and find the answer, which we will then always share openly with everyone.
Ken
