According to my wife, daughter and grandkids, the O.R. chicken dinner I prepared yesterday was my best yet. They begged me not to change the recipe ever again. I agreed so here is my final recipe.
L101112 – 11October2012
~Flour~
1/2 cup Brodie XXX self-raising cake/pastry flour
mixed well with
1/2 cup King Arthur pastry flour
~Spice Mix~
1 tsp McCormick Sage, ground (h)
1 tsp Irie White Pepper, fine ground (s)
3/4 tsp Spice Islands Black Pepper, medium ground (s)
1/2 tsp Marion-Kay Coriander, ground (s)
3/8 tsp Marion-Kay Ginger, Jamaican, fine ground (s)
1/4 tsp McCormick Chilli Powder, ground (s) ( I USE ANCHO CHILI POWDER)
1/4 tsp Spice Islands Nutmeg, ground (s)*
1/4 tsp Marion-Kay Bay Leaf, powdered (h)
1/4 tsp Marion-Kay Summer Savory, powdered (h)
1/8 tsp Marion-Kay Cardamom, Green, ground (s)
1/8 tsp Spice Islands Cloves, ground (s)
1/2 tsp Accent MSG
2 tsp Marion-Kay fine flake salt
*If you are unable to find Spice Islands Nutmeg, don't substitute any other Nutmeg. You should substitute McCormick Ground Mace instead.
~Egg Wash~
1 tsp Sugar, light brown
1/2 cup 2% Skim Milk
1 Whole egg

Oops, I forgot to test something when I created the recipe above.
For cooks using Spice Islands Nutmeg, BruceB of BruceB's Original Recipe Research Center (http://orresearch.forumup.us/) has recommended we use 3/8 or 1/2 tsp per cup of flour rather than the 1/4 tsp which my recipe contains. For my next batch, I'll try 3/8 tsp.
I wonder how the Trick or Treaters would react if I handed out O.R. drumsticks on Halloween. Shocked Laughing
