One of the earliest "records" of research into, CHS's "Kentucky Fired Chicken Original Recipe" was done on a Forum known as, "Joe's Place."

As time went on the Forum's appearance changed and developed into, pretty much, the familiar pattern that we all know today.

Out of this development came a group who called themselves, "The KFC Bandits." This group laid a lot of the groundwork that was later developed and riffed upon by forums such as, The Colonel's Kitchen. (https://web.archive.org/web/20160630210429/http://kfc.forumup.co.uk/)

What is interesting about looking back over these early records, is a) the vibrant interest that so many people had in trying to solve this challenge, and b) growth, development, and decay of a community of people as pettiness, jealousy, covetness, and intolerance wove its way into the fabric of conversations leading to acrimony, anger, and outrage.
New researcher's that have an interest in exploring this challenge are well advised to read over this forum, BUT also re-visit what's left as bare echos of the old forums. A lot of information has been lost. but there are still some clues around. AND there are still a few, sharks, shills, and trolls around to cause one's blood to boil. However, take a deep breath, repeat the mantra, "Water off a Duck's back" and keep moving forward.
TPM.
Addendum: As an interesting aside, the recipe developed by Manny, I believe, after some minor iterations, then went on to be produced and sold by FAB.
