I thought it might be a bit remiss not to include these two replicators recipes from 2009, in the records here.
Todd Wilbur's clone of KFC Original Recipe Fried Chicken:
SUMMARY
In 1993 I [Todd Wilbur - ed.] published my first version of this famous fried chicken in the book that started it all "Top Secret Recipes". Since then, I have developed over 1,000 secret recipes and have learned a lot about reverse-engineering foods. But now, after 3 very intense days at KFC Headquarters (CMT Video), I have finally gathered enough clues to create a recipe that I believe is as close a match to the KFC Original Fried Chicken as you can get.

INGREDIENTS
1 frying chicken cut into 8 pieces
8 cups water
1/3 cup salt
1 tablespoon MSG
6 to 10 cups soybean oil (vegetable oil)
9 ounces all-purpose flour (2 cups)
1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon MSG (monosodium glutamate)
2 teaspoons granulated sugar
2 teaspoons ground tellicherry pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground white pepper
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon ground savory
1/2 teaspoon ground sage
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground marjoram
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
4 eggs
2 cups skim milk]

Ron Douglas' Clone of KFC Original Recipe Fried Chicken
1 egg, beaten
1 cup buttermilk
1 3-lb. chicken, cut into 6 pcs.
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp. ground oregano
1 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. tsp. dried sage
1 tsp. tsp. dried basil
1 tsp. dried marjoram
1 tsp. pepper
2 tsp. salt
2 Tbl. paprika
1 Tbl. onion salt
1 tsp. garlic powder
2 Tbl. Accent
1 can lard (or 1 3-lb. can Crisco)
1. Combine egg and buttermilk in bowl, Soak chicken in mixture.
2. Add flour to separate bowl and fold in spices and herbs.
3. Roll chicken in seasoned flour until completely covered. Double coat for extra-crispy chicken.
4. Add lard to pressure fryer (not a home pressure cooker!) and heat to 365 degrees F.
5. Lower four pieces chicken into fryer and lock lid.
6. Fry for 8 to 10 minutes until golden brown.
7. Remove chicken and drain on paper towels or rack.
8. Repeat with remaining chicken.
