80 kpa is 11.6 PSI. That's a nice improvement. Yes considering my unit only had a 65 kpa. It won't do any good though if the safety valve goes off at 8 PSI or less. And another part i am not sure of is the solenoid pressure release valve that releases pressure when the timer goes off. I am hoping that is only based on the timer and can handle 12 PSI.

I'd love to know the results you get. Please post. I fry young broilers and they are already pretty tender. The 8PSI really steams the dark meat down to a great texture and if you break the breast down correctly the ribs and keel stay moist. However sometimes its hard finding 2.75-3# broilers. Luckily I'm a butcher and can order them in for myself. Edit: BTW looks like the pressure gauge has a pretty high area that it will still operate. The "Clean dead weight" section on the gauge looks to be about 15-18# but hard to tell with the unmarked hash lines. Please let us know how it goes.

I was dissapointed in Glen for not giving any of his followers any info on this pressure cooker. Seems he only cares about followers and likes. I don't follow him anymore. But i will post here my results. I dont do youtube . BTW, its hard to find whole chickens under 4 pounds in my area. At least for a reasonable price. I can get them under 3 pounds at the asian market but they come with the head and feet and cost 2x as much as the grocery store.

I got the 80 KPa jiggler last night around 6pm so it was too late to prep the chicken. So i have the chicken cut up and in my go to chicken brine ( 1L water, 1/8 cup sodium phosphate, 50g sea salt, 1 tsp sugar, 1 tsp msg ) in case anyone asks. Anyway, doing some further research i found last night( can't seem to find now ) a post of a member who tried using the same pressure fryer with the same 80 KPa jiggler and it apparently deformed his lid ( aluminum) That said, My version seems to have an Aluminum Pot, and Lid, but the clamping bar and brackets are thick stainless steel. One thing i was suprised was i weighed both the original 65 KPa and new 80 KPa jigglers and the 65 was 73g and the 80 was 75g. Only a 2g difference. Not sure if that is normal, i was just expecting the 80 to weight more then just a 2g difference.

On the bright side, I am glad i opted for the extended 4 year warranty. Just for the heck of it i put the lid on my grantite countertop and its not completely flat. There were some "knicks" on the edge of the lid which i left go since it has no effect on the seal, but it will hard to judge if it gets warped during testing. On a side note, i am making mashed potatoes in my instant pot to go with the fried chicken, and just for the heck of it i took the jiggler off and the inner diameter is the same as these other jigglers but is labeled 105 KPa.......nope.....im not that crazy........

Btw, I am going to .....cough.....Try CHS method and fry with lid off for 3 minutes at 165C (on my dial it runs slightly hotter) then drop to 130C and lock the lid in. and cook for the suggested 9 minutes , maybe 12 just to be safe. I am also going to have the original jiggler on stand by along with some protective heat gloves just incase i need to quickly pull the valve and replace it if i notice anything going wrong.

KFC_OR's crust is rather soggy by comparison to nigh-on any other deep fried chicken. Your chicken looks fantastic.

Its actually really good finished in the Ovens Air fryer function. I think i need to tweak the CHS method. Maybe 265C then 245C. Shame it barely reaches 8PSI even with the 80 KPa jiggler. I don't see any other leaks so not sure why its capping off at 7.5-8 PSI. Can't complain about a 9 piece chicken ( 11 if you count the heart and gizzard that was delishious ) For $4. People are nuts paying $20+ for a 8 piece at that famous fast food chicken joint that gives you plastic forks, knives, and spoons.
