It also says on both the 4.5 oz tin and the 9.5 oz plastic bottle to sift with 5 LBS of flour. Clearly Marion-Kay forgot to change the label. They both can't coat the same amount since they are not even the same in weight.

For the 9-1/2 ounce product I would initially think that about 2-2/3 tablespoons per Cup of Flour would be about right.

Add Salt to it to achieve a KFC OR like level of saltiness instead of adding a lot more of the Claudia Seasoning mix. Might need to add some pepper also, and for the same reason

kgp, does the content within the 9-1/2 ounce jar appear identical to that which you photographed from the 4-1/2 ounce jar? Roughly how many years separate them?

kgp , does the content within the 9-1/2 ounce jar appear identical to that which you photographed from the 4-1/2 ounce jar? Roughly how many years separate them? There are no pictures of the plastic bottle inside contents. The Ebayer said it was dated 1960's. There is no way that is correct. The plastic bottle looks modern. It even looks brand new. However, the tin is probably 1960's or 1970's. It would be good to know when Marion-Kay stopped using tin and went to all plastic.

You will see the tin is called Chicken Seasoning with Claudia Sanders pictures. They then came out with a plastic bottle and called it Chicken Seasoning Plus with her picture. They then dropped her picture (who today knows her?) all together and now just call it Chicken Seasoning Plus. What is the Plus part???

On the Marion Kay website they explain that Chicken Seasoning Plus is 99-X with additional salt added.
The current ingredients list reads: Fine Flake Salt, White and Black Pepper, Monosodium Glutamate, Sage, Coriander, and other natural herbs and spices.
Edit: The current 99-X ingredients list reads: Monosodium Glutamate, White and Black Pepper, Fine Flake Salt, Sage, Coriander, and other natural spices.
The two don't quite seem to jive if Chicken Seasoning Plus is merely 99-X with more salt added to it. MSG is out of position.
