Getting back to Glen and Friends, do you see he prefers KFC over the other chicken recipes? He does say the others are good chicken recipes and that he would server them up. Does he imply that the KFC of today still has a unique flavor? Please watch the video and tell us what you think about that.

So what is your explanation on the black specks that have an ash like consistency, and have no taste.

So what is your explanation the the black specks have an ash like consistency, and have no taste. I don't agree that KFC is putting anything into their recipe "for show." I don't need to explain what one person tasted. How can anyone do that? That is their opinion.

The question I just asked you said nothing about ‘kfc putting it in there for show’ No taste, tasteless is a description of a fellow researchers investigation of a component to a genuine kfc mix. Let’s assume that an experienced researcher knows the taste of pepper, and can detect its taste in what has been assumed to be cracked black pepper. Then it has to be taken as fact that this sample has no taste, what are your thoughts on that.. do you honestly not have a clue?

Yes, I see that you knowingly left that part out even though that is my disagreement.
I assure you I was not there with Willy when he tasted. What he tasted or lack of tasted is his opinion.
You're correct this is what the TCK forum especially Mark would do. We all had to agree. I don't.

There is an interesting comment under the latest episode.
<quote> Alfred Neuman 1 day ago I worked at a KFC about 15 years ago, and worked with a lady who had been working there since the 1970's. She actually met the Colonel when he would go across Canada, checking up on his restaurants. Anyway, We had many conversations on the recipe because well, that's just things you talk about when you've worked somewhere for 30+ years. When we read all the ingredients on the "spice mix bag", we only came up with 11 herbs/spices including salt. When we asked the lady who'd been there for years she said that YES, the Colonel insisted that Salt was part of the 11.
At that time, in Canada, we were using big (I think 25lb) bags of flour already with the Colonel's pre-mix in. I never had to mix spices into flour. They may do things differently now, than I did then! <unquote>

TPM seems to saying, don’t take it personal, kgp is critical of the statement not the person... No. That is not what I seemed to be saying, or implied. I was very clear in what I was saying, which you have summarised. Couldn't be clearer. There is nothing to "seem..." about it. I have nothing to say on the black specks, nor does my silence on the matter imply anything, positive or negative. ____________________ In a world of text, when the village square is an online forum, what we write, the way we write it, and the rules we use for engaging in public debate in a text based forum, matter. Being clear, concise, and adhering to agreed norms of logic HELPS to minimise misunderstandings. Misrepresenting one's argument with false interpretation only advances conflict instead of any actual debate. Look now, with one phrase, " pure fiction". Translated: You are a liar... at least half a dozen posts, if not more have been devoted to this feigned slight AND has involved 3 or 4 people, and for what?

So вы obsessed with semantics, totally devoid of real research, clueless and without opinion, without implication, either positive or negative. Sir I totally understand your silence on substantive matters, as it would indeed remove all doubt.

Thinking back over the years, I recall many claims, insults, and jabs from many members on this, and many other sites. Some deserved, but mainly personal attacks on those offering an opinion. Sadly, this resulted in a reluctance to share opinions and research. It promoted the "I'm not going to share my findings with anyone" mentality. The kid in the sandbox that feels wronged in some way, takes their toys, and goes home.
Correct me if I am out of line here, but everyone is welcome in this sandbox. Just don't use it like a kitty litter box. You know what I mean...
My grandfather, a very unlikable, but wise man, was often short on words. But he did leave me with an occasional nugget of wisdom. Once when I was a mouthy teenager, he told me it was important to know when not to speak. That's something that I still find hard to do. But he was right. Just because you can say something doesn't mean you should say it.
Sometimes we need to just take a moment before flaming each other. Yeah, it's hard to swallow your pride (just ask my wife about me). This search we are all on is supposed to be fun! And if we are going to have any fun, we need to remember when not to speak. With the anonymity of the internet, we all hide behind the curtain and sometimes say things that we would never say to someone in person.
Take what you want from this forum, contribute if you can, and forget about the stuff that doesn't matter. Forget about getting even. Because no matter what you do or say in life, there are always going to be people who just don't like you or respect what you think. Leave them behind and focus on those that bring something positive to your life.
The next time you want to stick-it-to someone and post a nasty-gram, ask yourself "What would my mother say if she read that?". While there is no backspace key on the game of life, there is one on your keyboard. Take a moment and make sure it works. Maybe it would be a helpful reminder to re-label it as the "Mom" or "Mum" key!

Does anyone have a link to the full video that "Glen and Friends" showed the spice bag being poured into the KFC breading lug?

I re-watched the third episode of the videos as I was intrigued by the PFK (Poulet Frit Kentucky) Bucket in the foreground. I'm guessing it came from a French speaking Canadian Province. Anyway, listening to him talk about Ken's recipe and suggest it needs more white pepper made me think that there are couple of things to consider. First we are in search of the taste of KFC as the Colonel intended, '52-'64 or any year from Canada up to '87. Considering that most versions of the recipe out there now are made up of 50% or more of pepper, if the rest of the ingredients were of inferior quality, what would you expect to taste? Pepper. And what is he using to compare to Ken's recipe with, todays KFC. I really did not expect the guy to play by the established perimeters here, but thought his insight might be helpful anyway. But knowing Ken's current recipe and that it's maxed on white pepper, more is not what it needs.
